Principal's Message

Welcome to Merrimac Elementary School—a place where learning is joyful, relationships matter, and every child is known, valued, and supported.

At Merrimac, we believe that school should feel safe, welcoming, and inspiring for students, families, and staff alike. Each day, our students are encouraged to grow not only academically, but socially and emotionally as well. We work hard to create an environment where children feel confident taking risks, proud of their accomplishments, and supported through challenges.

Our school community is guided by the Merrimac Pledge, which reflects the values we strive to live by every day. We encourage our students to be leaders in every way, to act with kindness, to respect and accept differences, and to take responsibility for themselves and their school. You will see these values come to life in our classrooms, hallways, assemblies, and daily interactions—through meaningful learning experiences, positive relationships, and a strong sense of belonging.

Teaching and learning at Merrimac are thoughtful, engaging, and student-centered. Our dedicated staff continuously works to meet the needs of all learners by creating inclusive classrooms, fostering curiosity, and celebrating growth. We believe that when students feel supported and challenged, they are capable of amazing things.

Equally important is the partnership we share with our families and community. Merrimac is strengthened by the involvement, trust, and collaboration of parents, caregivers, and community members. Together, we create experiences that enrich learning, build connections, and make school a place students are excited to be each day.

As principal, I am proud to serve such a caring, committed, and resilient school community. Merrimac is a special place, and it is an honor to work alongside our students, staff, and families as we continue to learn, grow, and lead together.

Thank you for being part of our Merrimac family.

Warmly,

Elizabeth Tucci
