Merrimac - Halloween Parade Friday, 10/30 at 9:30 am

Dear Merrimac Families:

Halloween will be here before we know it! Merrimac will be having its annual Halloween Parade on Friday, October 30th at 9:30 AM. The parade will take place in the Merrimac bus loop in the front of the building. To keep the bus loop clear, any parents attending should park in the front parking lot or along Broadway Avenue. Please leave accessible parking spots open for those who require them.

Halloween is a fun day in schools and classrooms, and the kids are always excited to show off their costumes! In order to keep it safe and fun for all students, please make sure that your child chooses a costume to wear to school that is appropriate. Please refrain from having your child wear any of the items listed below:

• No swords, guns, knives or any other weapon
• No blood, guts or gore as a part of the costume
• No portrayal of violent characters (e.g., Scream, Freddy Krueger, etc.)

I thank you in advance for your help in making this an enjoyable experience for all students! Some children are more sensitive and can frighten easily, and it is our responsibility to help provide them a safe environment. If you think that your child’s costume might scare another student, please have them wear something else for the school celebration.

I greatly appreciate your support and look forward to seeing you at the parade. Please remember, if there is inclement weather the parade will be held inside for students/staff only. A phone call will be made by 8:30 AM should we need to cancel the outdoor parade. Let’s hope for good weather!

As always, thank you for your support!

Sincerely,
Elizabeth Tucci
