This week was filled with so many special moments at Merrimac!
We enjoyed an outstanding spring concert at Seneca Middle School on Monday evening featuring our 5th grade band and orchestra, along with our 4th and 5th grade choruses. Our student musicians truly shined and made us so proud with their hard work, talent, and confidence on stage. A very special thank you goes to Ms. Krug and Ms. Degenhardt for the countless hours, dedication, and heart they put into preparing our students for such a wonderful performance. We are also appreciative to Mrs. Caruana for joining us for the evening and grateful to all of the families who came out to support our students and celebrate the arts at Merrimac.
We were also excited to welcome our incoming kindergarten students and families during Kindergarten Orientation this week. It was wonderful to meet such a sweet, excited, and adorable group of future Merrimac students! Our staff did an amazing job preparing for the event, and our PTA helped make it extra special with allergen-free snacks, drinks, and a kindergarten certificate signing station for students.
Our 5th grade students completed the NYS Science Assessment this week. They demonstrated perseverance, focus, and determination throughout. We are very proud of their efforts.
We also held our annual First Responder Parade this week, which is always such a meaningful event for our school community. Thank you to Mrs. Lawrence for organizing the parade, to all of our first responders for their participation and support, and to our PTA for all of their help in making the event so special for our students, staff, and families.
