Sachem North Powers Past Pat-Med, 42–20, in Homecoming Win

HoCo Win SachemIt was a picture-perfect homecoming week for Sachem North, capped by a dominant 42–20 victory over Patchogue-Medford on Saturday afternoon. The Arrows improved to 3–2 in Suffolk Division I with the win, delivering a performance that matched the energy and pride felt throughout the Sachem community.

The week was filled with celebration, from the spirited pep rally to the festive homecoming dance. but the most significant moment came on the field, where Sachem executed a masterful game plan in front of a packed crowd of students, alumni, and families. The program also celebrated a milestone victory, marking the 350th win in Sachem football history, fittingly achieved against its most familiar rival. The matchup with Pat-Med was the 62nd meeting between the two schools, the most in Sachem’s storied history.

On the field, Jake Spera led the charge with 137 rushing yards and two touchdowns on just nine carries. Henry Sarro added two rushing scores, while Jon Giraulo made a game-changing play with a 34-yard fumble return for a touchdown. Lucas Bouchard contributed six receptions for 86 yards and a touchdown, showcasing the team’s offensive balance and depth.

Adding to the day’s meaning, Sachem alum Michael Murphy was recognized before kickoff as the honorary captain, joining the team for the coin toss and representing decades of tradition and community connection.

As the Arrows continue their push through the second half of the season, the combination of pride, history, and performance on display this week reinforced what makes Sachem football and the community so special.
